Description:
One of our clients is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and implement advanced ML/AI pipelines supporting biologics and genetic medicine R&D.
6-12 month contract, strong potential for extensions
Hybrid in Worcester, MA (3 days/week onsite required)
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement ML pipelines to assess biologics developability, immunogenicity, and manufacturability.
- Build, tune, and deploy models using protein sequences, structures, and multi-modal omics datasets.
- Collaborate with data engineers to define model-ready datasets and data schemas.
- Apply deep learning, transformers, graph neural networks, and probabilistic models.
- Automate training, validation, and deployment using SageMaker, MLFlow, or similar tools.
- Ensure reproducibility and traceability of models in regulated environments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in applied machine learning or computational biology.
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace Transformers).
- Experience building ML pipelines in cloud environments (preferably AWS).
- Understanding of protein structure, antibody sequences, or biologics.
- Familiarity with data versioning, experiment tracking, and MLOps best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with structure-based modeling or AlphaFold-derived features.
- Knowledge of LLMs and embeddings for protein/gene sequences.
- Experience integrating public databases (e.g., IEDB, UniProt, SAbDab, PDB).
- Familiarity with GxP, FAIR data principles, or regulated model development.
