Data Center Operations Lead Technician - Englewood, CO 
  • 12 month contract
  • Hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm local time
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Senior/Lead Data Center Technician
  • 5 years of experience working in Data Center Operations  
Overview 
  • Responsible for internal tickets, and full delivery of service to resolution. 
  • Site assessment/inventory of systems.
  • Both Powered up and powered off.
  • Skilled with working with Servers, Routers, Switches, Backup equipment rack/stack, cabling etc..

Task Description
  • Plugging in a console port for remote management
  • Physically relocating ( i.e. moving) an asset within the same data center
  • Cabling assets (power, network, ILO, etc.
  • Performing media loading and handling per Customer instructions and Customer provided shipping materials
  • Performing tape media scratch count
  • Reviewing and/or relaying of system or console messages
  • Performing visual inspection of devices to assess equipment status
  • Performing visual inspection of a rack Power Distribution Unit (PDU)
  • Report any malfunctioning or non-working equipment or other defective conditions at the
  • Premises including the following: flickering or non-working lights; inoperative or malfunctioning
  • Inform Customer of any sub-quality work practices or health and safety issues
  • Install, Move, Add, Change,and De-install IMACD    
  • Assembling and configuring servers, storage arrays,and networking gear including Cisco
  • Racking servers,storage arrays, and networking gear
  • Server installations and decommissioning .
  • Performin a site audit and/or inventory    
  • Data center walk through to identify problems.
  • Assisting with asset deployment    
  • Verifying KVM operation
  • Typing and submitting commands to systems at the direction of the Customer
  • Preparing an asset for disposal per Customer provided instructions (does not include actual disposal)
  • Performing investigation of in-rack cabling or connectivity
  • Replacing in-rack cabling or making changes to connectivity
  • Performing firmware and or patch installation 
  • Assisting with asset deployment (complex
  • Collaborating with Customer facilities personnel relating to an open incident
  • Installation Of Customer provided and specified CAT3, CAT 5E, CAT 6, CAT-6a & Coaxial Coaxial Copper Cable within the Rack.
