Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract job with a client in Denver, CO (Hybrid). The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in designing and implementing HPC systems.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $49.00 per hour

System Administrator job responsibilities include:
- Designing, deploying, and maintaining HPC clusters, including compute, storage, and networking components.
- Managing Linux-based HPC systems, including job schedulers like Slurm, PBS, or Grid Engine.
- Monitoring system health, resolving performance bottlenecks, and ensuring uptime and optimal configuration of resources.
- Fine-tuning applications and workloads for optimal performance on HPC systems.
- Managing large-scale parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS, or BeeGFS) and optimizing data transfer strategies.
- Providing technical support and training to researchers and end users, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Ensuring adherence to security best practices, implementing data backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HPC system administration and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in managing Linux-based HPC systems, including experience with job schedulers such as Slurm, PBS, or Grid Engine.
- Strong knowledge of large-scale parallel file systems like Lustre, GPFS, or BeeGFS, and experience optimizing data transfer and storage for high-throughput workloads.
