Job Details
Core responsibilities (what they ll actually do)
Administer LAN/WAN/Wireless across corporate + operational locations (multi-site support)
Configure/support routers, switches, firewalls, and network appliances
Handle VLANs/segmentation, IP addressing, routing and switching (day-to-day network ops)
Monitor availability/performance/capacity, tune the network, and reduce outages
Troubleshoot complex connectivity/performance issues across locations and remote users
Implement security controls: firewall rules, access controls, segmentation, VPN/remote access
Maintain diagrams, configs, documentation; perform firmware upgrades and maintenance windows
Participate in change management (CAB-style processes)
Work with vendors/ISPs/MSPs; support expansions, upgrades, and new site rollouts
Must-have skills (screening checklist)
Routing/switching hands-on (not just theoretical): VLANs, trunks, STP basics, inter-VLAN routing
TCP/IP fundamentals: subnetting, gateways, DNS, DHCP, basic packet flow troubleshooting
Enterprise wired + wireless support experience
