Job Title: Senior Java Developer
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract


Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with 10+ years of backend development expertise, particularly with Spring Boot, Kafka/MQ, and MongoDB. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in analyzing technical requirements, designing scalable systems, developing clean code, and supporting deployments across environments. Strong communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support end-to-end software delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user stories and technical requirements to develop scalable backend solutions.
  • Design and implement applications using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and MongoDB.
  • Perform hands-on coding, unit testing, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain regular check-in of code and artifacts to version control systems.
  • Conduct regular builds and deploy code to test environments.
  • Collaborate with QA teams for test support, perform bug fixes, and manage defect resolution.
  • Create and execute production deployment plans and support UAT coordination.
  • Deliver post-release support and assist in handing over artifacts to support teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for design, testing, and deployment activities.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of Java backend development experience.
  • Proficiency in Spring Boot, Java, Kafka/MQ, and MongoDB.
  • Solid understanding of microservice design, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong experience with unit testing frameworks, version control, and build tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical collaboration.
  • Ability to manage end-to-end software lifecycle, from requirement analysis to post-release support.
