Senior Network Architect - CCIE

Location: Austin, TX (onsite)

Contract Position

We re seeking a seasoned Network Architect to lead the transformation of our client s enterprise network into a next-generation, secure, and scalable infrastructure. This pivotal role will focus on modernizing the network and data center environment, including data center consolidation, enhanced security architecture, and long-term infrastructure evolution.

As a key contributor to this infrastructure modernization initiative, you ll be responsible for documenting the current state, defining the future state architecture, and partnering with internal teams and external vendors to bring that vision to life. You ll also serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), helping to ensure design alignment across engineering, operations, and security teams.

Qualifications:

  • 7 10+ years of experience in network architecture and engineering, with a proven record designing and managing complex, enterprise-grade environments
  • CCIE certification required (will consider candidates who have passed the written exam and are preparing for the Lab)
  • Additional certifications like CCDE, ACDX, or PCNSE are highly desirable
  • Deep expertise in network security, including Zero Trust models, segmentation, and data protection
  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP, as well as core networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) preferred
  • Familiarity with Cisco voice solutions, including CUCM, is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams effectively

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement end-to-end network solutions (LAN/WAN/Cloud) that are secure, resilient, and scalable
  • Create, review, and maintain network architecture diagrams, standards, and documentation
  • Lead efforts in data center modernization and consolidation, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Integrate and promote network security best practices, including Zero Trust architecture and data protection strategies
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, develop strategic roadmaps, and guide adoption of next-gen networking tools and platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and key vendor partners to design and deliver future-ready solutions
  • Serve as a go-to expert on network architecture, protocols, performance optimization, and fault tolerance
