Job Title: Jr. Cable Technician
Contract Type: W2 Contract (1-year duration)
Location: Austin, TX (commuting distance to Taylor, TX required)

Position Summary:

Our Client is seeking a Jr. Cable Technician to work in a clean-room environment at a semiconductor manufacturing facility. The role involves installing, testing, and troubleshooting copper cabling (Category 5e/6/6a) for network infrastructure. The technician must follow safety protocols, work with industry-standard tools, and interpret floor plans accurately. The position also requires the ability to work within a team and assist with network infrastructure tasks like rack and de-rack of devices.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with network installations, adjustments, and troubleshooting.

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper cabling for data networks.

Ensure proper cable labeling, dressing, and adherence to site standards.

Document work and assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Support the network team during hardware replacements and connectivity issue resolutions.

Follow site security and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma.

Proficient in English (written and verbal).

Valid driver s license and reliable transportation.

Basic hand tool usage and familiarity with cable standards.

Competence in copper testing procedures.

Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights (up to 40 feet), and in confined spaces.

Flexible schedule (weekends or after-hours as needed).

Must pass a criminal background check and live within 1 hour driving distance from Taylor, TX.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year of experience in construction or structured cabling.

Proficiency with testing equipment.

Strong understanding of Layer 1 network infrastructure.
