Job Summary
The ARINC GLOBAL Network (AGN) system is comprised of several private data centers and connects to the far reaches of the globe, in almost every country providing aviation, airport, government, and transportation connectivity. AGN provides private networking in a highly reliable, secure and available world-wide network architecture for Collins Aerospace IMS mission critical aviation, transportation, and airports customers.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the AGN Systems Engineering and Architecture team responsible for and engaging in the architecture design, development, testing and evaluation of network communication technologies products and solutions in support of the ARINC Global Network.
Candidate must be very familiar with network management systems (NMS) concepts and technologies with and understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including routing, switching, application centric and cloud based technologies, as well as be able to plan and configure network communications systems based on Cisco platforms. Candidate must be highly motivated, able to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical member on projects that contain moderate to highly complex environments, utilizing high availability concepts.
- Develop and implement project plans within budgetary, schedule and resource constraints.
- Collaborate with other members of the Engineering team in the development of technical design solutions.
- Capture, analyze, decompose and create requirements for network systems, products and subsystems of moderate complexity.
- Use an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on customer needs and business requirements, to design, develop, document, test and maintain network systems ranging from the straightforward to moderately complex.
- Author, review and maintain documentation during all phases of the system design life cycle as appropriate and specified within documented process and procedure (Project Plans, Estimates, Requirements Documentation, Operational Scenarios, Design Documentation and Drawings, Sys Acceptance Test Plans, etc...).
- Apply Security/Cybersecurity methodologies to network and systems design to provide secure services that support business requirements.
- Provide post-fielding support, resolving operational issues involving L2 and L3, in a multi-routing network infrastructure
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
- Must be able to use independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities the majority of the time, under general supervision.
- Must possess excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate ideas in both business and technical terms (both verbal and written) according to the audience, securing and sustaining their buy-in.
- Must be able to clearly depict and convey understanding of technical design using a wide range of design notations and artifacts, as applicable to the audience.
- Attention to detail and experience providing solutions and implementing infrastructures requiring 100% availability.
- Understanding of IP Networks, security and network management concepts.
- Operator level working knowledge minimum, administrator level preferred.
- Linux OS operations and concepts RedHat or Centos preferred.

- CCNA cert not required initially, but required after hire. HA concepts and application to server/network environments
- Understanding of formal configuration management processes. Working knowledge of automation and configuration management leveraging tools such as Ansible.
- Demonstrated understanding of project life cycle support, including requirements development, analysis, design, test, implementation and post fielding support.
- Ability to take the initiative in driving technical discussions with the relevant parties and not wait to be invited.
- Familiarity with IBM Netcool OMNIbus Core/Probes/Gateway configuration
- WebGUI configuration - custom dashboards (future)
- NOI / Watson AIOps knowledge
- AIOps and ITSM automation concepts
- Probe rules file creation/updates
- Event Filter configuration
- Familiarity with MicroFocus NNMi/NOM product suite (or administrative-level knowledge of similar NMS/Element Manager application)
- Application Failover configuration/administration
- Inventory/User account management
- SNMP Polling configuration/Monitoring Configuration
- 5 or more years of engineering experience through all phases of the SDLC life cycle and with demonstrated knowledge of core Network Management and Performance Management technologies and applications.
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related field.
- Desired: Active CCNA not required, but desired after hire.
