Job Details
Title: Network Administrator Duration: 2 Years Client: Florida Department of Transportation Location: 4975 Wilson Rd. Sanford, Fl. 32771
Note: This is an On-site Role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage network operations, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
Configure and maintain LibreNMS and Brocade Network Performance Monitor.
Oversee and execute changes to the physical layer in coordination with FDOT's contract manager.
Administer Fortinet firewalls, including policy and role updates.
Perform regular audits and updates for FortiGate Web Filters.
Coordinate with service providers, contractors, vendors, and consultants for network-related tasks.
Conduct field visits and maintenance checks as needed.
Complete CJIS, SLERS background checks, and FDOT security compliance modules.
Submit detailed time reports and collaborate with internal FDOT teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in network administration or related IT roles.
Strong understanding of enterprise-level Layer 2/3 networking.
Experience with Fortinet Firewall administration.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (LibreNMS, Brocade NPM).
Valid driver s license and access to a personal vehicle for field travel.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies as needed.
Desirable Skills (Preferred):
- Previous experience working with FDOT or other transportation/government agencies.
Familiarity with traffic operations systems (e.g., CCTV, DMS, field detectors).
Knowledge of security protocols and background clearance processes.
