Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Patient Records Abstractor III for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients in San Diego, CA . (100% remote)

Responsibilities :
  • Under general supervision performs in depth complex daily CPT, HCPCS, Modifiers, and ICD-10 review of outpatient codes and charges to resolve coding errors and claim edits. Accurately interpret handwritten and typed notes/diagnoses and convert them into CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes and apply appropriate facility modifiers.
Required Skills:
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Must have three (3) years of Outpatient coding experience(ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, facility Modifiers), and claim edits.
  • Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10, & HCPCS coding applications.
  • Anatomical pathology coding experience

Preferred Skills:
  • Certified Outpatient Coder (COC).
  • Knowledge of facility LCD, NCD, and NCCI edits and how to interpret.
  • EPIC and 3M preferred.
