About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Technical Specialist, you will collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop and document aerospace hardware that meets stringent technical, cost, and schedule requirements. This role demands hands-on CAD expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic, on-site environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed mechanical designs using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks required).
  • Generate engineering drawings in compliance with ASME standards (Y14.100, Y14.3, Y14.5).
  • Manage design documentation including drawings, BOMs, and 3D fabrication files within PDM systems.
  • Prepare and release Engineering Orders (EOs) and revisions.
  • Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and production planning.
  • Support hardware receiving, integration, testing, and certification processes.
  • Maintain consistent on-site presence and collaborate across departments and business units.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a two-year technical degree with 2+ years of experience.
    (Higher degrees may substitute for experience: Bachelor's = 2 years, Master's = 4 years)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and mechanical CAD modeling/drafting.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and ASME drawing standards.
  • Experience with configuration management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual environments.
  • Experience in 3D printing and design for manufacturability is preferred.


Work Environment
  • Regular on-site work required (5 days/week).
  • May involve work in office, lab, production floor, cleanroom, or outdoor settings.
  • Occasional travel between company campuses or external locations.
  • Use of protective equipment may be required in certain areas.
