My client is a Tech based Professional Services business with operations in both North America, Australia and Europe. They have revenues in excess of $ 15m and are poised for their next phase of growth, thanks to a recent transaction.
Job Description
Reporting directly into the Director of Finance based in Boston, the Senior Accountant will support in the management of all finance operations for North America. The role will play a critical role in driving accounting operations and support day-to-day processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury activity, and will play a leading role in financial reporting efforts. This Senior Accountant role will partner with our outsourced bookkeepers to ensure our US and Australia books are closed timely and accurately. There will be growth opportunities as the firm strives to build best in class accounting processes, including supporting an upcoming ERP implementation.
Main duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries and preparing account reconciliations
- Supporting month end close process, including preparing company financial statements
- Partnering with 3rd party bookkeepers to drive timely and accurate customer billing
- Reviewing bills from vendors and contractors for accuracy and appropriate coding
- Supporting customer collections efforts
- Preparing financial reporting analysis, including budget vs actual reports and cash forecasting
- Supporting annual audit and providing necessary data to 3rd party tax experts in support of quarterly and annual filings
- Identifying opportunities for and driving business process improvements
- Providing support to Director of Finance and cross-functionally to build ad hoc reporting and analysis as necessary

The Successful Applicant
In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree required (essential)
- 3+ years of relevant finance/ accounting experience
- Ability to work in a REMOTE role initially, but adjust to a HYBRID schedule (2 to 3 days in Boston office once a lease is signed).
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with proven time management and organization skills
- Team player and proactive problem solver
- Experience working in QuickBooks Online or Xero, a plus
- Experience working with Private Equity-backed companies, a plus
