At Bloomberg, data is at the heart of everything we do. As part of the DMAP Viz Solutions & Reporting team, you will play a critical role in driving analytics throughout the organization to improve our products, engage better with our customers, create greater efficiencies, and drive new businesses by providing insights into the data.

Our data captures the who, what, when, where and why of how our clients use Bloomberg products, how our systems execute, and how our employees engage with our customers. We are responsible for ingesting and preparing massive amounts of data for reporting, dashboards, self-service and advanced analytics.

We are looking to hire a software engineer with a strong domain and technical knowledge of Business Intelligence tools - specifically Qlik and PowerBI.

The candidate should have experience not only using these tools but also an in-depth understanding of how they work in an enterprise environment. Specifically, the candidate needs to understand the implementation process including API's, the processes needed to integrate the tool within Bloomberg's environment, and promote self-service offerings. The candidate should be able to craft out a long term strategy for viz tools used in Bloomberg.

We'll trust you too:
  • Managing weekly office hours to provide assistance to Bloomberg's analytics community
  • Liaising directly with Qlik/PowerBI on any issues within their tool.
  • Working closely with the eng team members on implementing tool integrations scripts
  • Documenting FAQs with a long term goal to make them self-serve accessible
  • Orchestrating regular show & tells / knowledge shares on best practices
  • Being up to date with industry standards on solutions, extensions & software upgrades
  • Creating & managing the runbook for new tool & extensions evaluation
  • Owning the stakeholder management lifecycle & streamlining the book of work for the team

You'll need to have:
  • 4+ Years of Experience in QlikSense API development such as QRS, Qlik Sense Repository Service API and Qlik Sense Proxy Service API
  • 4+ Years of Experience in SQL capabilities and dimensional modeling
  • Ability to write code in python/javascript to contribute to the build & tool integration processes
  • Strong data reporting and visualization experience with the ability to tell a story and drive analytics solutions
  • BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field

We'd love to see:
  • Experience with a wide variety of BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, Superset etc.
  • Experience working with extremely large data volumes is a plus
  • Knowledge of Qlik Cloud offerings
  • Experience in the creation of Extension objects using Qlik Capability APIs and QLIK Engine API.
  • Knowledge of other programming Languages such as Python, JavaScript
  • Understanding of data warehousing methodologies and ETL processing in tools such as Informatica
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with business users to gather requirements and manage scope
  • Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills
  • Understanding of VLDB performance aspects, such as table partitioning, sharding, table distribution and optimization techniques

Salary Range = 00 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
