Job Details

Project Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Compensation and Benefits Consultant to lead a comprehensive year-long transformation project aimed at aligning our total rewards strategy with world-class benchmarks and creating a performance-based, employee-friendly environment.
This role requires a seasoned consultant with strategic insight, hands-on execution skills, and exceptional stakeholder management experience. The consultant will work on-site with HR, Finance, and business leaders to conduct a full audit of the current structure and develop a future-focused, competitive, and equitable compensation and benefits framework across all departments.
Key Objectives:
Conduct a full audit of current compensation and benefits structures across departments (engineering, operations, customer service, finance, IT, etc.)
Evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and alignment with organizational goals
Design a performance-based total rewards system that attracts, motivates, and retains talent
Recommend best-in-class benefits offerings that support employee well-being and engagement
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and conference room pilot (CRP) sessions with employees and leadership
Engage C-level stakeholders to align compensation strategy with business outcomes
Develop clear, actionable, and sustainable recommendations for long-term impact
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment Phase
Analyze salary structures, incentive plans, bonuses, allowances, and benefits offerings
Conduct internal equity studies and benchmarking against tolling and infrastructure industry standards
Review HR policies, compliance with labor laws, and pay transparency practices
Perform employee and leadership interviews and facilitate department-specific workshops
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risk areas in current reward practices
Strategy & Design Phase
Design a performance-linked compensation structure with transparent career progression
Create flexible, employee-focused benefits programs (healthcare, wellness, retirement, etc.)
Develop pay grading systems, job evaluation frameworks, and market-aligned salary bands
Align rewards with organization s DEI, engagement, and talent retention objectives
Ensure regulatory compliance and long-term cost sustainability
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with HR, Finance, and business units to co-develop and test solutions
Lead CRP sessions, workshops, and strategy reviews with functional leaders
Present findings, models, and strategic roadmaps to C-suite and Board-level stakeholders
Develop communication plans and materials to support implementation and change adoption
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field (Master s preferred)
10+ years of experience in compensation and benefits strategy, with consulting or transformation roles
Proven experience in the tolling, transportation, infrastructure, or public utilities industries
Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, multi-department reward system redesigns
Experience working with C-level executives, facilitating workshops, and conducting CRP sessions
Strong analytical and modeling skills (Excel, HR analytics tools, market pricing software)
Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Workday, SAP, Oracle), and benefits systems
Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CCP, CBP, SPHR)
