Job Description
- Experience 12+ years (Relevant experience of 4+ years in Database architect)
- A DB2 Architect responsible for managing and maintaining IBM DB2 databases, ensuring that they are running efficiently and securely.
- Knowledge of integration of DB2 databases on various platforms (IIB, ETL, JAVA etc.).
- SQL & Query Optimization standards: Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing SQL Queries for finetuning performance issues. Knowledge of the DB2 query optimization process, which selects the most efficient method for executing queries.
- Database Design: Knowledge of normalization, data modeling, Load management, and suggesting best practices for DB2 schema design if needed.
- Good understanding on Db2 exception handling and coding practices
- Skill: Managing lock contention and deadlock detection and suggesting solutions for resolutions
- Skill: Understanding row-level, page-level, and table-level locks and providing solutions
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with DB2 s monitoring tools (IBM Data studio, IBM Tivoli Monitoring etc.) to analyze and optimize performance.
- Strong relational DB concepts in SQL/DB2, Strong experience in JDBC.
- Strong problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Primary Skill: IBM Db2
Desirable Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Core Java and Object-oriented concepts.
- Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum.
- Experience in documentation skills.
