Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is looking for an accomplished Senior Director to spearhead critical initiatives in DDoS protection and Network Security. This key leadership role is responsible for shaping strategy, architecting solutions, overseeing delivery, and ensuring operational excellence for OCI's foundational security infrastructure-safeguarding both Oracle and its customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
Drive the vision and roadmap for OCI's DDoS and network security initiatives, aligning with broader organizational objectives to ensure resilient, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
- Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop multiple high-performing software engineering teams. Foster a collaborative, innovative environment that supports career growth, talent development, and continuous learning.
- Project Delivery:
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of software development projects, from inception through deployment and ongoing operations. Establish best practices in software architecture, reliability, and scalability for critical infrastructure.
- Performance & Accountability:
Set clear, measurable performance goals at both individual and team levels. Continuously monitor progress, uphold high standards of excellence, and drive results that enhance OCI's security posture.
- Collaboration:
Influence and partner with cross-functional teams-including product, operations, and leadership stakeholders-to deliver secure, mission-critical services and solutions.
- Innovation & Technical Direction:
Apply deep technical expertise in distributed systems, network operating systems, orchestration, and security technologies to guide architectural enhancements and next-generation capabilities.
- Operational Excellence:
Implement processes that ensure high availability, reliability, and rapid response to evolving security threats, with a focus on protecting the OCI platform from DDoS and other cybersecurity attacks.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years in people management with a successful record overseeing large-scale, mission-critical service operations.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, resource optimization, and performance management within complex enterprise environments.
- Expert in building, mentoring, and leading senior engineering talent and managers.
- Proven decision-maker with the ability to influence senior leadership and operate effectively in highly-matrixed, fast-paced organizations.
- Deep technical expertise in networking, cloud infrastructure operations, and large-scale distributed systems.
- Track record of managing critical cloud-based services with direct impact on business operations and revenue.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $141,200 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
