Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a background in healthcare and insurance to join our data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures to optimize data storage and retrieval for analytics and reporting purposes. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity and availability of data across our healthcare and insurance platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data pipelines to process and integrate large volumes of healthcare and insurance data.
- Develop and maintain data models to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Utilize ETL tools to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses.
- Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to ensure data quality and accuracy for decision-making.
- Implement data governance practices to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards.
- Optimize existing data architecture for performance and scalability using cloud technologies.
- Work with Big Data technologies, including Apache Spark, to handle complex data processing tasks.
- Create documentation and conduct training for team members on data processes and systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on healthcare or insurance data.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with data warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies and frameworks, especially Apache Spark.
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Understanding of data governance principles and practices.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and statistical analysis is a plus.
