Senior Developer

Overview

Job Purpose

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE), is seeking an experienced Senior Java and Python Developer to join our Technology team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications using both Java and Python. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technology innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions using Java and Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Document software designs, technical specifications, and best practices.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Provide software deployment and production support.

Knowledge and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional development experience with a strong focus on Java and Python.
• Experience with Django, Python, Typescript, and React is required.
• Experience with Spring Boot is a plus.
• Proven experience in building scalable, distributed systems and RESTful APIs.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• An eagerness to learn.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

New York Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $150,000 - 200,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
