Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator III is responsible for the advanced administration, maintenance, and support of the firm's IT infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of systems critical to legal operations and provides technical leadership within the IT department.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain servers, storage systems, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Monitor system health and security, applying patches and updates as necessary.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with firm policies.
Support legal-specific applications and ensure integration with core systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues escalated from support teams.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Participate in planning and execution of IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Ensure compliance with legal industry standards for data protection and confidentiality.
Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and implement infrastructure strategies.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and support staff.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of system administration, networking, and security principles.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Experience with virtualization, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
Understanding of legal technology platforms and data privacy requirements.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 2 years in a senior or Tier III role.
Experience in a legal or professional services environment strongly preferred
