The SD-WAN engineering team at Juniper Networks works on a highly scalable, distributed SDWAN application that is AI-Driven. You will have the chance to create and implement inventive solutions for the architectural complexities involved in intelligent path routing. You will actively work on project teams with highly skilled engineers involved in the software development for WAN Assurance - A hyper-scalable cloud AIOps platform.
As a Software Engineering Director at Juniper, you will be at the forefront of AI Ops and SD-WAN, leading a team of talented software engineers in delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance our customers' quality of experience and operational efficiency. Your leadership will be pivotal in building, running and managing solution test infrastructure. You will play a critical role in driving inter-team collaboration, identifying and managing dependencies, and ensuring that the team meets its objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Minimum Salary: $203,456.00
Maximum Salary:$292,468.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $203,456.00 and $292,468.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.

Responsibilities
- Oversee, develop and extend a scalable automation solution test infrastructure based on python and robot framework
- Oversee and mentor engineers; helping set quality standards for the team
- Utilize DevOps tools and environments to simulate different network topologies, such as AWS, open stack, KVM, ansible, salt and similar
- Automate in house and third-party traffic generation tools to verify different network paths across different topologies
- Help run and manage a scalable build and continuous integration infrastructure for on-prem and in the cloud
- Help define monitoring standards and tools appropriate for different network elements
- Diagnose issues identified by network monitoring and work to resolve issues
- Continuously assist with issues that arise from the field as well as internally found items
- Provide suggestions for improvement in Development or Testing practices to increase efficiency
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Guiding on technical designs
Qualifications
- B.S or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in software development and testing
- 7+ years of technical leadership experience or people management experience
- Familiar with Issue Tracking Systems (Jira), Linux (RedHat), and Version Control Systems (Git)
- Working experience with TCP/IP and WAN data communications
- Understanding of routing protocols and concepts
- Ability to deliver clean, modular code quickly and efficiently
- Attention to detail and ability to solve complex customer problems
- Own solutions end-to-end and driving the design, development, and deployment process
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Experience in / Spirent / Load Testing is preferred
- Experience modeling/simulation of complex scenarios and comprehensive end to end automation
- Experience with IaaS adoption in a non-virtualized legacy environment
- Experience with Linux operating systems
- Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal, to effectively understand and convey issues and solutions to peers and end users.
- Experience with Agile development process
- Experience with Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration
