National Grid is hiring an Engineer, Gas Asset Management for our MA Gas Asset and Distribution Engineering department. This hybrid role is based in Waltham, MA.

The Role

Our primary responsibility is for safely delivering uninterrupted gas to our customers by continuously monitoring and modernizing our infrastructure in the most cost-effective way to minimize risk, provide reliability, and maximize the life of our gas assets. The Massachusetts service territory operates over 11,000 miles of gas distribution mains and provides gas service to over 960,000 customers.

What You'll Do

  • Perform routine engineering analysis and provide recommendations associated with system operating procedures, equipment and facility integrity assessments, as well as system analysis
  • Independently collate and analyze data within one area using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department's decision-making process
  • Monitor resources and program spending to make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes

About You

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school is required; the position aligns closest to Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or similar engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in an engineering role required
  • Proven knowledge of relevant industry practice, standards and legislation required
  • Proficiency with Excel required

Salary

$101,000 - $115,000 a year
