Job Title: DataStage Developer / Talend Developer

Remote Role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DataStage Developer / Talend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/data integration solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with data architects, BI teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL jobs using IBM DataStage and/or Talend
  • Build and maintain data integration pipelines for batch and near-real-time processing
  • Analyze source system data and transform it into target data warehouse or data lake structures
  • Optimize ETL performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Develop reusable ETL frameworks, job templates, and standards
  • Implement data quality checks, validations, and error-handling mechanisms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ETL failures, data issues, and performance bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with BI, reporting, and analytics teams to support downstream data needs
  • Participate in ETL code reviews, documentation, and release management
  • Support production deployments, monitoring, and on-call activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in ETL/Data Integration development
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM DataStage and/or Talend
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schemas)
  • Advanced SQL skills for data analysis and tuning
  • Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Teradata, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ETL best practices, performance tuning, and error handling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Talend Cloud or DataStage on Cloud
  • Exposure to Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
  • Experience with data quality and governance tools
