Job Title: Mainframe Application Developer (COBOL/CICS/DB2)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Mainframe Application Developer with extensive experience in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM to join our development team. The ideal candidate should bring a strong background in building and maintaining complex mainframe applications, particularly in high-availability and transaction-heavy environments. Experience with debugging, batch processing, and integration tools is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL-based mainframe applications.
Design and implement efficient batch and online processes using CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
Utilize MQ (Message Queue) and related tools for data transmission and asynchronous processing.
Write and optimize complex DB2 Stored Procedures for application efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirements analysis, solution design, and deployment.
Perform debugging using Expeditor, File Aid, and REXX for issue identification and resolution.
Schedule, monitor, and support batch jobs using CA-7, NDM, and MFTS.
Manage source code and version control using Endevor.
Create and maintain scripts using CLIST and REXX to automate workflows.
Support integration and file transfer protocols including sFTP, XML-based interfaces, and NDM file transfer tools.
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of mainframe application development experience using COBOL.
7+ years hands-on experience with CICS, DB2, and VSAM in large-scale applications.
Strong working knowledge of MQ, Stored Procedures, and online/batch processing systems.
Proficiency with Expeditor, File Aid, Endevor, and CA-7.
Exposure to file and job transfer tools like NDM, MFTS, sFTP.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as REXX and CLIST.
Experience working with XML, JSON, and other data interchange formats is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
