Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering and DevOps team, with a primary focus on Kubernetes, GKE ,and OpenShift cluster management and CI / CD pipeline automation. In this role you will design, implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and continuous delivery workflows that enable rapid, reliable software releases. You will work closely with development, QA and security teams to build self-service capabilities, enforce best practices and ensure our container platforms are secure, scalable and highly available.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deploy, configure and operate GKE and OpenShift clusters (on-premises and in cloud) using best-practice architectures.
- Architect, build and maintain end-to-end CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, Argo CD or equivalent), including automated testing, security scanning and canary/blue-green deployments.
- Define and manage infrastructure via Terraform (loudCLI) and configuration management with Ansible, ensuring environments are versioned, repeatable and cost-optimized.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk or Cloud Native) to track cluster health, SLIs/SLOs and drive capacity planning.
- Integrate secrets management (Vault) and vulnerability scanning (Snyk, Clair, Trivy, SonarQube) into build and deployment workflows to enforce DevSecOps policies.
- Knowledge of deploying/integrating OPA policies.
- Automate cluster lifecycle operations including upgrades, scaling and failover to maintain high availability.
- Partner with development, QA and security teams to remove bottlenecks, share knowledge and evangelize platform-as-a-service standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, deliver training sessions and author documentation for self-service infrastructure and deployment tools.
- Participate in architecture reviews, release planning and incident response, driving root-cause analysis and remediation.
- Evaluate and integrate new tools or practices to continuously improve efficiency, reliability and security of our delivery processes al experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years in a DevOps, platfor or cloud-engineering role with demonstrable Kubernetes/OpenShift expertise
- Hands-on experience designing and operating CI / CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Argo CD or similar
- Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Strong Linux administration skills and scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby or similar)
- Familiarity with container networking, storage, and security fundamentals
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- GitOps practices and tools (Flux, Argo CD)
- Public cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and hybrid deployment models
- Service meshes (Istio, Linkerd) and microservices architecture
- Working within regulated environments (PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2)
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate or equivalent
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
- Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration
