We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer/HVAC Project Designer to join our dynamic team.
Locations: St. Louis, MO | Champaign, IL | 100% Remote (for a PE)
This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the engineering industry and has a strong interest in designing large commercial projects for HVAC & building automation systems (boilers, fire alarms, security, etc.). Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Use AutoCAD to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Work closely with the building automation team to integrate mechanical systems with BAS.
- Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
- Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications, and safety standards.
- Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Provide feedback and advice to project teams regarding design specifications.
- Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
- Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and prepare contract documents.
- Perform personnel functions, such as supervision of production workers, technicians, technologists and other engineers.
Job Details
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other computer-aided design software.
- Experience in building automation and BAS is essential.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with others.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
