About the Opportunity

We re looking for a Senior Project Manager ready to lead high-impact software application and infrastructure projects supporting Texas s educational system. You ll work side by side with driven professionals who take their work seriously without taking themselves too seriously.

In this role, you ll report to the Assistant Director of the IT PMO and take ownership of projects that directly improve outcomes for students statewide. This is your chance to combine your expertise in Agile project management with the satisfaction of work that truly matters.

What You ll Tackle

  • Process Leadership: Define and fine-tune project processes that keep the team aligned, budgets realistic, and schedules achievable.

  • Deliverable Quality: Raise the bar on deliverables, ensuring applications not only work as expected but inspire confidence in every stakeholder.

  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong, trust-based connections, gather actionable feedback, and keep everyone on the same page.

  • Team Empowerment: Tackle problems decisively, address risks early, and motivate your team to take ownership and push for excellence.

  • Strategic Planning: Help set the direction for technology roadmaps and guide project planning to align with critical legislative and organizational priorities.

What Sets You Apart

  • A track record of success leading software application teams using SDLC, PMLC, and Agile Scrum methodologies (8+ years)

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, able to translate complex details into clear, actionable plans

  • A proactive mindset, thriving in environments where you re trusted to solve problems independently and effectively

  • Experience driving results while keeping a team engaged, focused, and committed to quality

Bonus Points For

  • 3+ years using Power BI to drive insights and report progress

  • 3+ years working with Data Lake technologies to harness and manage data at scale
