Staff Engineer, HV Power Applications
Job Description
The candidate will work in a team of engineers to develop power products for high power (>1kW) applications in Electric Vehicle, Datacenter, Cloud servers and other wide-bandgap end applications. This will involve close collaboration with some of the best circuit designers in the industry armed with the tools, knowledge, and technologies of the leader in power management. The job requires good understanding of power electronics, laboratory skills in high power (>1kW) applications, reasonable experience in firmware/software and investigative skills to understand trade-offs. Additional job responsibilities include creating simulation and mathematical models, evaluating various isolated dc-dc topologies and making recommendations to the team. More specifically, the candidate needs to contribute to the following areas:
Education & Experience
Minimum BSEE + 7 years of experience; Preferred MSEE (or equivalent) + 8 years of experience

More specifically, the candidate needs to contribute to the following areas:
- Product Development
- Develop system, architecture and topology proposals for high power (>1kW) applications using wide-bandgap devices
- Develop proof of concept simulation models and correlate with bench performance
- Engage with key customers on product roadmap discussions
- Experimental verification of products in development to identify problems and limitations
- Understanding of MCU specifications with some firmware/software development experience
- Product Support
- Generation and validation of reference designs for system verification and targeted end applications
- Develop design collaterals to assist customers with designs, such as datasheets, evaluation kit manuals application notes, layout guidelines and simulation models
- Verification and testing of evaluation kits, and generation of evaluation reports for customers
- Support Troubleshooting of difficult or unusual technical problems
Education & Experience

Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, control loop and architecture
- Power electronics understanding - operation and control of DC-DC converters in high power applications (>1kW)
- Understanding of circuit simulation and/or software development tools and techniques
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (i.e. power supplies, oscilloscope, electronic-load, DAQ)
- Experience in debugging high power circuits
- Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and with a cross-functional team
Preferred Qualifications
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Fundamentals on isolated power topologies for dc-dc converters
- Direct experience in wide-bandgap dc-dc high power applications (>1kW)
