JOB SUMMARY
This is an entry level position within the Health Systems Information Resources (HSIR) team for a self-starter with the ability to work with moderate to minimal oversight in a highly complex and dynamic work environment. The primary responsibility of the Application Analyst I is to develop a strong understanding of UT Southwestern, our Patient Access team, and the Epic modules we support including, Prelude and Grand Central. This role primarily focuses on Prelude and requires a dedicated focus on self-paced study to achieve proficiency status in this Epic module. The analyst will work in-office, shadowing a senior analyst while maintaining a full 40-hour workweek. In this role, the analyst will assist with workflow support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for mission-critical HSIR systems under supervision. They will provide after-hours on-call support as needed and develop competence in relevant applications and technologies within a specified timeframe. This position requires HIT certification.

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, computer science or other field

- Experience
Previous exposure to healthcare and/or electronic records is desired but not required.
- Provide workflow assistance, trouble-shooting and support for mission critical HSIR systems with assistance.
- Provide on-call after-hours support.
- Develop and maintain competency on pertinent applications and technologies within a specified timeframe.
- Participate in system maintenance by utilizing analytical skills for issue resolution, enhancement development, project participation and version upgrades with oversight.
- Follow change management procedure for any system changes.
- Assist in testing of new applications and changes to existing applications ensuring integrity and quality of data while providing and/or assisting in training of system users.
- Assist in developing appropriate process/policy documentation.
- Manage multiple tasks/work on multiple projects simultaneously with guidance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
