Description:
We are seeking an experienced Programmer - Consultant to join our client team in Blythewood, SC. This is a 100% onsite position through the probationary period, with the option for a hybrid work schedule thereafter. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Micro Focus Visual COBOL, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid background in RDBMS development.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing web service and batch business applications.
- Lead system problem analysis and troubleshooting.
- Propose and implement scalable technical solutions.
- Code, test, and promote solutions that align with user requirements.
- Provide consistent project updates and status reports to development manager.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years experience with Micro Focus Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022 environments (batch & under IIS).
- 4+ years of development in Visual Studio 2019/2022 with debugger usage.
- 4+ years of experience programming against relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server).
Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years writing complex SQL queries (Oracle and MS SQL).
- 2+ years experience with IIS configuration/setup.
- 1+ year of development experience with Microsoft C# / .NET.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- OR Minimum 10 years of directly related development experience.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
- Microsoft Technical Certifications.
- Micro Focus Certifications (Highly Valued).
