Job Summary:
We are looking for a Performance Engineer with a strong background in analyzing and optimizing the performance of large-scale, complex systems. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks across application layers, fine-tuning systems for optimal efficiency, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver lightning-fast, scalable solutions.
We are looking for a Performance Engineer with a strong background in analyzing and optimizing the performance of large-scale, complex systems. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks across application layers, fine-tuning systems for optimal efficiency, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver lightning-fast, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests for web/mobile/native applications and backend systems.
- Identify and isolate system-level and code-level bottlenecks using profiling and observability tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams to ensure performance is considered throughout the SDLC.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed recommendations on optimization, scaling strategies, and system design improvements.
- Build and maintain test harnesses and dashboards to monitor application KPIs in production and staging environments.
- Support CI/CD integration of performance testing pipelines.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in performance engineering, system optimization, or a similar role.
- Deep understanding of application performance concepts including CPU, memory, I/O, threading, caching, and database access patterns.
- Strong hands-on experience with tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, or custom-built performance testing frameworks.
- Experience with APM tools like New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, or Splunk for end-to-end observability.
- Familiarity with profiling tools for backend languages (e.g., Instruments, perf, YourKit, JProfiler).
- Solid scripting and/or programming knowledge (Python, Java, Bash, or equivalent).
- Experience in performance tuning for iOS/macOS apps, backend services, APIs, and databases is a plus.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD systems, Git, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Swift, Objective-C, or Xcode Instruments for native app performance.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and edge performance monitoring.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid environments with tight deadlines and high visibility.
- Ability to clearly document and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
