Job Title : Snowflake DBT platform administrator

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Operations
- Administer and maintain Snowflake environments (accounts, warehouses, databases, roles, users)
- Manage dbt platform (dbt Cloud or dbt Core), including environments, jobs, schedules, and permissions
- Monitor platform health, performance, and usage
Security & Governance
- Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC) in Snowflake
- Enforce data security, masking, and compliance policies
- Support audits and compliance requirements
Performance & Cost Optimization
- Monitor Snowflake credit usage and query performance
- Tune warehouses, resource monitors, clustering, and caching strategies
- Implement cost-control and optimization best practices
CI/CD & Automation
- Support CI/CD pipelines for dbt and Snowflake deployments
- Automate administrative tasks using SQL, Python, or shell scripting
- Integrate with Git, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure tools
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with data engineers, analytics engineers, and BI teams
- Provide platform guidance and best practices
- Troubleshoot production issues and support incident resolution
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in data platform or database administration
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Snowflake
- 2+ years experience administering dbt (dbt Cloud or dbt Core)
- Strong understanding of:
- Snowflake architecture and internals
- RBAC, security, and data governance
- SQL and query performance tuning
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core/Advanced)
- dbt certification or deep dbt internals knowledge
- Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Experience supporting Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, life sciences)
