Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Agile Coach / SAFe Coach (SPC6) to lead and drive an enterprise-wide Lean Agile and product transformation. This role is a strategic change agent responsible for guiding the organization through its transition from a project-based to a product-based operating model, while enabling high performance across teams, ARTs, and leadership groups.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technology background, deep SAFe coaching expertise, hands-on experience launching Agile Release Trains, and the ability to train and mentor at all organizational levels. This role also supports the launch of a new Platform Team and plays a key part in establishing a Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE).

Key Responsibilities

Lean Agile & Product Transformation

Champion enterprise-wide Lean Agile adoption and continuous improvement.

Apply Lean Agile principles, practices, and product-thinking to drive cultural and operational transformation.

Guide the transition from a project model to a product-centric operating model.

Coaching & Facilitation

Provide coaching to teams, leadership, Scrum Masters, Product Managers, and RTEs.

Support teams in selecting and maturing Agile frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.

Coach ART execution, lead PI Planning, and drive ART maturity and performance.

Launch Agile Release Trains (7+ ARTs released experience preferred).

Training & Enablement

Deliver SAFe training sessions to teams, leadership, and Scrum Masters (SPC6 Certification is a MUST).

Conduct workshops on Lean Portfolio Management, Product Thinking, Value Stream Mapping, story writing, ceremonies, and technical best practices.

Enhance and develop training materials for enterprise-wide adoption.

Enterprise Leadership

Partner with stakeholders to define Agile transformation strategy, roadmap, and metrics.

Identify enterprise-level value streams and remove blockers impacting business agility.

Promote transparency, psychological safety, and a continuous learning culture.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience applying Lean Agile methodologies and coaching.

SPC6 certification - MUST HAVE.

5+ years of Agile Coaching experience with proven RTE experience - MUST HAVE.

Strong background in technology and platform environments - MUST HAVE.

Demonstrated success leading large-scale Agile/SAFe transformations.

Experience coaching ARTs, launching trains, and supporting PI Planning.

Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and workshop facilitation skills.

Ability to conduct onsite training in Reston, VA and Washington, DC as needed.

Nice to Have

Experience establishing or working within a Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE).

Experience in product management transformation or enterprise product operating models.
