Contract Duration: 12+ Months Required Skills & Experience
  • 12+ years Experience with Application Database Administration.
  • Experience with Oracle RDBMS on RHEL 7/8
  • Database System monitoring experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
  • Financial Industry experience is required.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Hands-on Java application development and coding.
  • Handle high priority projects.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Provide development expertise and bring advanced knowledge of applications programming to ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
  • Partner with multiple management teams to ensure integration of functions, identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
  • Serve as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
  • Provide hands-on Application Database Administration support to the entire Reference Data team for its enhancements.
  • Actively ensure availability and performance tuning of the databases that support the system.
  • Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
  • Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
  • Provide trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
  • Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Development team and third parties as appropriate.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
  • Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team.
