we are a Tier 1 vendor for the City and County of San Francisco for Cloud Services, Staffing Services and Training Services. Roles/Responsibilities:
This role will also involve supporting other DESE applications, including ASBR, CORE Data, FNS, MCDS, and Educator Certification, among others.
The selected candidate will ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of DESE applications, addressing both legacy system maintenance and new feature development. The position requires adaptability to evolving state education laws and regulations, ensuring that all enhancements align with legal and technical requirements. The developer will play a key role in enabling efficient service delivery to educators, administrators, and stakeholders through effective application functionality, database management, and process improvements.
Mandatory Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years working in a fast-paced, data-driven IT environment, preferably within a State government agency or an equivalent organizational setting.
- Proven experience maintaining, supporting, and enhancing enterprise-level applications and business processes.
- Experience collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), performing testing (unit, system, QA, UAT), and documenting system requirements and specifications.
- Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office applications
- Microsoft SQL Server & SQL: 5+ years development and query experience.
- Azure DevOps (ADO): 5+ years' experience managing work items, version control, and reporting.
- Microsoft Visual Studio (2015 2022): 5+ years' experience developing, debugging, and deploying applications.
- Programming Languages: 5+ years with C#, VB, ASP.Net, MVC, JavaScript, CSS, and Bootstrap.
- Microsoft Office & Microsoft Visio: 5+ years' experience using these tools for documentation, process mapping, and workflow design.
- SSRS Reporting: Minimum 2 years' experience creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting reports.
Desirable Skills:
- DESE ePeGS experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze, research, and resolve system issues.
- Effective communication skills for working with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize work items according to urgency and business impact.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to document work clearly and accurately.
