Now Hiring: GIS/CAD Technician for a Citywide Makeover Project
San Joaquin County, CA | Contract-to-Hire | $44-$53/hr | Long-Term, Hands-On Role
A growing city is rebuilding its entire GIS system from the ground up-and they need someone who's ready to take charge. The current setup? It's rough. You'll clean it up, modernize it, and make it something departments can actually rely on.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Fix and clean up outdated GIS data
- Convert CAD and utility files into solid GIS info
- Add smart features like parcel click-throughs and plan access
- Make clean, presentation-ready maps for council and departments
- Help set up GIS-driven asset management
- Recommend GPS tools for field teams and help them use it
- Work with teams across the city-planning, economic development, public works, etc.
Key Requirements:
- Strong GIS/ESRI tools / AutoCAD
- Data Cleanup, experience building a reliable database
- Mapping for city planning / Utility mapping knowledge
- Python / Scripting
- Field/GPS Advising
