Description: Our client is currently seeking a Operational Technology & Controls Lead
Role Overview:

The Operations Technology Lead is responsible for delivering technology services to support production and manufacturing operations. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, governance, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure teams, as well as various software and support vendors, to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the operational technology (OT) network, servers, storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage OT Equipment and Services: Oversee SCADA systems, Factorytalk tools (e.g., Historian, AssetCentre), ThinManager, and associated servers.
  • Operational Software: Oversee licensing and security servers for OT applications.
  • Server Maintenance: Patch and maintain Windows servers within the application architecture.
  • IP Management: Manage IP addresses for OT devices.
  • Health Monitoring: Monitor and mitigate hardware and software health conditions across the OT domain.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to support operations.
  • Access Management: Manage employee access to OT resources.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain a comprehensive OT disaster recovery plan and secure backup systems.
  • Vendor Management: Procure and manage contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • System Support: Perform ongoing system support and maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairs, programming, configuration, and testing.
  • Infrastructure Requirements: Ensure OT infrastructure meets performance, availability, reliability, and security requirements.
  • Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of the OT technology strategy and roadmap.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as the 'voice of the customer' for engineering and production areas.
  • Issue Resolution: Interface with the infrastructure team to resolve issues affecting the OT infrastructure.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement and maintain OT infrastructure policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure system integration and interoperability.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to OT and IT staff.
  • Technology Evaluation: Research, evaluate, and recommend new OT infrastructure technologies and solutions.
  • Project Management: Manage OT infrastructure projects, vendors, and contracts, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • Strong knowledge and experience in OT infrastructure implementation and management, preferably in manufacturing.
    • Understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) related to SCADA systems, historian systems, MES systems, etc.
    • Knowledge of OT security principles, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82).
    • Familiarity with IT infrastructure technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory).
    • Experience with OT and IT integration technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, DMZs).
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
    • Project management and vendor management skills.
