Job Title: Network Engineer
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support network infrastructure across our enterprise. The role involves maintaining high network availability, ensuring security, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business operations.
Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN networks.
Install, configure, and support network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime.
Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
Conduct regular network capacity planning, optimization, and upgrades.
Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, and application teams for seamless operations.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards.
Provide technical support for escalated network issues and assist in root cause analysis.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
12+ years of experience in network engineering or administration.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
Proficiency in firewall configuration (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, etc.).
Good understanding of network security principles.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or JNCIP.
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Knowledge of VoIP, SD-WAN, or network automation tools (Python, Ansible).
