Job Title: Linux System Administrator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to manage, maintain, and enhance our Linux-based server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our systems while providing technical support to internal teams. This role requires a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, networking, security best practices, and automation tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
- Perform regular system updates, patching, and backups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Implement and maintain security measures (firewalls, intrusion detection, SELinux, etc.)
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Maintain documentation related to system configuration, processes, and policies.
- Work with development and DevOps teams to support deployment pipelines and CI/CD.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 5 years of experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Linux server environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Experience with server monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Linux certification (RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+ or equivalent).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience in high-availability and load-balancing environments.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
