Job Title: Linux System Administrator

Location: Hybrid

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to manage, maintain, and enhance our Linux-based server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our systems while providing technical support to internal teams. This role requires a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, networking, security best practices, and automation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
  • Perform regular system updates, patching, and backups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Implement and maintain security measures (firewalls, intrusion detection, SELinux, etc.)
  • Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Maintain documentation related to system configuration, processes, and policies.
  • Work with development and DevOps teams to support deployment pipelines and CI/CD.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support when required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 5 years of experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux server environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
  • Experience with server monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Linux certification (RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+ or equivalent).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Experience in high-availability and load-balancing environments.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
