Data Scientist II (f/t)

Job Description:
  • Build technology-driven data products: Build a Data Product that integrates multiple data sources, internal (transaction data) and external Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, (FDIC, Census, others), and enables value-added visualizations to pinpoint high-growth markets for business expansion.
  • Leverage leading-edge technologies [Web, APls (Application Programming Interface)] and programming (Python, R, others) and integrate with existing Geospatial map tools such as ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) & Sales Force for the Product build.
  • The Product will marry the supply side of Retailers and financial institutions and the Demand side of high-growth market areas to laser into the most profitable locations to expand the Cardtronics ATM footprint.
  • Utilize sophisticated data mining and programming skills to enable visualizations on Geospatial maps and other UI tools and drive training for such with the Sales team.
  • Retail Dataset and Model build out & expansion: Using the requisite technical skills, build a comprehensive modelling data set comprising internal data (Transactions, program, Product,
  • geography, profitability, etc.) and external (FDIC, etc.) and other variables.
  • Work with external websites and vendors as required to improve the richness of the datasets-new retail locations and new model build variables.
  • Create an automated process for the dataset preparation that is repeatable, accurate and resilient (person independent).
  • Identify new variables that show strong correlation and enable pinpointing profitable and high growth new locations selection for ATM installs and grow the Cardtronics business.
  • Build Forecasting models for ATM cash management at the machine level to help cash fill operations project cash needs and make appropriate arrangements.
  • Continuously improve and fine-tune the models based on the latest research on modelling techniques, macroeconomic factors, and historical data trends.
  • Automate the execution and usage of such models for the end customers by developing appropriate usage tools.
  • Build a robust monitoring mechanism for model performance that feeds back into decision-making and measures metrics to gain a strong understanding of the state of cash.
  • Lead analytics to provide data-based grounding & objectivity to enable the rollout of new groundbreaking Products.
  • Perform post-rollout monitoring of products, providing grounded metrics on measuring product lift by implementing scientific techniques such as test vs. control, p, n values, and other statistical techniques.
  • Individual Retailer deep dives.
  • Perform deep dive analytics into individual retailers to enable Sales teams with the ammunition to close deals and secure gratifying contracts.
  • Test/control analysis to experiment using sophisticated statistical techniques to drive new revenues.
  • Marketing segmentation on activities such as signage or other forms of testing for individual retailers; assign test/controls and measure lift to enable rollout decision.
  • Reporting client usage and performance before contract renewals to suggest the best products for various client scenarios.
  • Other duties as assigned. Part-time telecommuting is permitted.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent* in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science. or related quantitative field and four (4) years of experience in software engineering occupation. Experience must include:
  • Two (2) years of experience working knowledge in data visualization, statistical modeling, data mining, reliability engineering, and predictive analytics.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in the Banking, Retail, or Hospitality industry.
  • Two (2) years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
  • Two (2) years of experience using one or more languages (R, Python, Scala, Java) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Two (2) years of experience using a variety of machine learning techniques (regression, clustering, decision tree learning), Random Forest, SVM, Deep Learning Neural Networks, and predictive analytics.
  • Two (2) years of experience with advanced statistical tools, techniques, and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage).
  • Two (2) years of experience of API management
  • Two (2) years of experience using RESTful Web services and Azure Web Apps.
  • Two (2) years of experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using PowerBI, Tableau, and D3.js.
  • Two (2) years of experience with at least one Deep Learning framework such as CNN, RNN, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with SQL databases & Lake.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with complex on-premises and cloud data architectures.
