Job Details
This Software Engineering team is responsible for developing components that streamline the deployment, management, and scaling of diverse database clusters, messaging, and storage systems, as a service. By automating operational workflows and providing standardized interfaces, the team ensures reliability, efficiency, and ease of use for the operations team. We build modular, extensible components providing standardized workflows for performing actions across multiple systems and API targets, such that operational processes can be automated, extended, and integrated. Expertise in multiple data platforms, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Clickhouse, MS SQL Server, and other data technologies from both a deployment configuration and operational use is required. This team writes code to deploy databases, manage them, and analyze state through such work actions as query plan execution analysis, and other techniques.

Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements gathering, technical specification, and the design and development of complex software projects, with a focus on Database Platform automation and monitoring
- Work with product managers, operations engineers, and leadership to delivery high quality software solutions from development to production
- Contribute to software architecture design, development of software applications, and integration into enterprise systems
- Document architecture, processes, and runbooks (SOPs/design documents)
- Continuously monitor and improve system health and resource usage
- Promote software engineering best practices by using your code as the example, along with participation in code reviews, building tools, and documentation
- Be nimble and react quickly to changing business conditions and priorities and Leverage your existing skills while learning and implementing new technologies
- Interact with multiple teams of engineers from multiple to solve complex operational challenges
Requirements
- Minimum of 6+ years of working experience within software engineering field
- Experience in C#, Python, Bash, Ruby, or Powershell
- Extensive Database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongodb, SQL Server, Oracle) and good knowledge in query optimization
- Expertise in distributed database technologies (Cassandra, ClickHouse, Scylla, etc.)
- Skilled in scripting (Shell, Python, SQL) for automation of database operations
- Expert knowledge of REST APIs and Microservice architecture, experience with Docker and Kubernetes; Queue processing experience (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience with distributed systems spanning multiple regions, with complex interdependencies
- Working knowledge of continuous deployment, feature toggles, logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting
- Exposure to Go, NodeJS, NPM and other open source technologies is a plus
- Good unit testing and integration testing practices and Agile/SCRUM Software Development Process experience

$133,440 - $292,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
