Overview:
Seeking a Controls Engineer to provide technical expertise in controls and electronics for a high-volume medical device manufacturing plant. Focus on troubleshooting, improving automated assembly equipment, PLC-based systems, motion control, and inspection systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and resolve downtime or quality issues in automated equipment.

Implement PLC program, firmware, and hardware changes to improve safety and productivity.

Develop and maintain machine software security and change control documentation.

Define preventive maintenance requirements and drive root cause analysis for failures.

Support commissioning, validation, and upgrades of manufacturing equipment.

Train technicians and provide on-call technical support.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
-
5+ years of industrial controls experience in manufacturing.
-
Expertise in Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, and HMI development.

Knowledge of LAN/WAN, circuit design, sensors, safety hardware, VFDs, and instrumentation.

Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
-
Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Fanuc).

Siemens PLC (Step7), FactoryTalk SE, Ignition.
-
VFD/Servo drive tuning (Allen Bradley PowerFlex, Kinetix).
-
Fieldbus networks (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, DeviceNet), RFID systems.
-
PID tuning, serial communication (RS-232/422/485, Modbus, ProfiBus).
