Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for complex enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in DevOps automation, infrastructure as code, and system reliability, while also guiding development teams in best practices and operational excellence. This position supports large-scale, mission-critical systems and will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and release teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 15+ years of experience in DevOps/Systems Engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a lead or SME capacity.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, scripting (Python, Bash), and automation frameworks.
• Proficient with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, AKS).
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK stack).

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting applications in regulated environments such as transportation, public sector, or federal agencies is a nice to have.
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and secure pipeline integration.
• Experience with enterprise-grade release management and change control processes.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or related DevOps tools are a plus.
  

  Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Serve as a DevOps SME, advising on infrastructure strategy, automation, and deployment standards.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Automate configuration management, monitoring, and security practices across environments.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth build, release, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues; implement fixes for high availability and reliability.
• Support containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Optimize cloud resources (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) for performance, cost, and security.
• Promote DevOps culture and mentor engineering teams on DevOps tools and practices
