Piper Companies is seeking a Downstream Process Automation Engineer to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for an onsite position in Holly Springs, North Carolina (NC). The Downstream Process Automation Engineer will oversee DeltaV DCS automation systems in a cGMP pharmaceutical environment, managing system integration, documentation review, and cross-functional coordination while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and validation requirements.

Responsibilities of the Downstream Process Automation Engineer include:
- Attend and participate in key project meetings, including project status meetings with FDBN Automation engineers, System Integrator reviews, and weekly DSM Automation Huddle meetings
- Provide comprehensive design review and input on Automation requirements across multiple process areas, including functional reviews and life cycle documentation
- Review and approve Kneat documentation, including DeltaV software FATs, SATs, Automation Commissioning Test Protocols, software OQs, and Software Installation Verification protocols while supporting document generation
- Manage and oversee System Integrator's execution of loop checks and commissioning activities for designated process areas
- Coordinate across multiple project workstreams (FDBN/FDBD Automation, CSV, CQV, Utilities, Process Engineering) while maintaining compliance with all required Safety, Project Procedure, and Project Instruction training
Qualifications for the Downstream Process Automation Engineer include:
- 7+ years' direct experience working with Emerson DeltaV DCS
- Experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical facility working with FDA regulations
- Working knowledge of Kneat validation software
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Compensation for the Downstream Process Automation Engineer:
- Salary Range: $70-$80/hour (USD)
