Job Summary:
The Senior Applications Administrator provides comprehensive support of business applications. This role includes advanced system configuration, user administration, complex troubleshooting, proactive performance monitoring, and leading collaborations with vendors and internal stakeholders. The position requires a strong understanding of business workflows, and the ability to translate complex user needs into technical solutions. The Systems Applications Administrator will also lead application upgrades, implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years Application experience. Experience managing the lifecycle for a portfolio of Business Applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert level Knowledge of Information Technology such as Identity & Access Management, Security Groups, Provisioning, etc. In Depth knowledge of common integration methods and technologies (e.g., Application Programming Interface (APIs). Robust knowledge of the underlying operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and Information Technology infrastructure that support the applications. Comprehensive Knowledge of database structures, data management principles, and application server infrastructure. Extremely strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences including executive leadership. Provides exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills including providing timely and helpful support to application users and building positive working relationships. Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex application issues. Expert project management skills and proficiency in coordinating small to medium-sized application-related projects. Thrives independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, skillfully managing multiple competing priorities. Sound ability to collaborate with software vendors, encompassing issue escalation and cultivating positive working relationships. Adaptability and learning agility to master new applications and technologies. Serves as advanced-level, technical advisor to others offering high level support, mentorship, education and training. May lead and collaborate with others in same work performed (does not supervise)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provides expert-level support for designated applications through daily operations, addressing user inquiries, resolving complex issues, and performing advanced maintenance tasks.
Configures and customizes applications based on user requirements and organizational needs, adhering to best practices and security guidelines including managing user accounts, roles, permissions, and security settings within the applications.
Develops and delivers comprehensive training materials on application functionality and best practices, as well as creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation including system configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
Investigates and resolves application errors, monitor performance problems, and data discrepancies, escalating to vendors when necessary. Monitors and troubleshoots highly complex integrations between business and clinical applications and other healthcare systems (e.g., Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), retail systems).
Leads the planning, testing, validation and implementation of application upgrades, patches, and new modules. Responsible for creating test plans/scripts, executing functional and regression tests, logging defects, and verifying fixes. Serves as a primary point of contact with application vendors for support, issue resolution, and feature requests. Is the go-to resource in assisting with internal and external audits related to application security and data privacy. Works closely with business and administrative staff, Information Technology colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure applications meet their needs, aligns with organizational goals, and follows established change management processes for application modifications and deployments. Responsible for other duties as assigned. Provide support in a 24/7 operating environment.
