Hardware Support Tech

Soni's client is looking for an entry-level IT Hardware Support Technician to assist with a 4-6 month Windows 11 rollout project. This role will focus primarily on hardware replacements and providing basic onsite support to ensure end-user devices are compliant and fully operational with the new operating system. This role will be on-site daily in the Princeton area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Replace and upgrade hardware components (e.g., memory, drives, peripherals) to meet Windows 11 compatibility standards.
  
• Unbox, set up, and deploy new laptops and desktops across user environments.
  
• Assist with the imaging, configuration, and validation of Windows 11 installations.
  
• Perform basic diagnostics to ensure equipment functions properly post-deployment.
  
• Document and track hardware swaps, serial numbers, and asset tags.
  
• Provide hands-on support for reconnecting monitors, docking stations, printers, and other peripherals.
  
• Follow detailed deployment procedures and escalate issues to senior IT staff when needed.
  

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of PC hardware and peripherals.
  
• Comfortable with physical tasks such as moving, lifting, and setting up equipment (~30 lbs).
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow step-by-step instructions.
  
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and a customer-service mindset.
  
• Reliable transportation and punctuality for on-site work.
  

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to Windows 10 or 11 environments.
  
• Prior experience supporting desktop refresh or OS migration projects.
  
• Familiarity with imaging tools and asset management systems is a plus.
  

Compensation: $16 an hour, W2
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications .
