In line with Division objectives and under instructions of a manager, the Production Operations Duty Manager will provide and co-ordinate technical support and administration for moderate to highly complex systems, databases, and applications for internal or external customers ensuring reliability requirements ranging from high to mission critical.
The Production Operations Duty Manager will provide leadership for small or medium sized teams.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $119,917 MINIMUM to &222,703 MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. - Strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases, including performance tuning, query optimization, and PL/SQL development.
- Working knowledge of Cassandra for handling distributed NoSQL data storage and scalable data architecture.
- Proficiency in Kafka for building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications.
- Experience managing distributed systems using Zookeeper for coordination and configuration.
- Advanced programming skills in Java for backend services and integration.
- Scripting proficiency in Perl and Shell for automation, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Production Operations primary and backup Duty Manager (Incident Manager) shifts
- Work on a shift schedule, including weekends, eligible for shift allowances in line with local policies
- ProdOps point of contact for Senior Management, Support DM and Command Centre for major incident handling
- Incident and problem handling - sends out Communication of operational issues, schedule and participate in checkpoints
- Creates impact assessment after identified problem
- Responsible/accountable for L1 local recoveries during shift
- Ensure readiness for changes within shift, prepare for weekend change activity and oversee maintenance window changes during weekend.
- Maintains local DM schedule
- Owner of the Incident, Change and near miss trend reporting
- Owner of the major incident simulation scenarios (developing & executing)
- Responsible for the Duty manager training roadmap and skills tracking, including detailed service area training
- Oversee critical CMC processes and SLAs, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Works with SRE teams to further enhance the (monitoring) Tools and help develop best practices and Dashboards
- Provide training to Junior Duty managers and other stakeholders on key Business flows
- Participate in scheduled Swift BC activities during weekends
- Build relationships with Duty Managers in other departments like CC, BD and SDM, and owns the interlock meetings
- Define and implement recommendations on complex or ambiguous issues in either systems, or databases, or applications or a combination thereof
- Review highly complex problem situations and define preventive measures / improvements to processes, procedures or tools
- Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders to implement enhancements for recovery capabilities
