Job Description-:

Data Architect:

• We need an experienced DA for analyzing current application and requirements to be able to design the refactor app. They must have experience refactoring applications into Azure using Azure components (SQL Server, etc.) Must have experience using MySQL as current app runs on it. The candidate will work with solution architects, data engineers, developers and database administrators.

Skills:

• Design Data Models: Develop and optimize database models to store and retrieve company information efficiently.
• Data Management: Ensure data integrity and security by implementing data governance standards and procedures.
• System Requirements Analysis: Analyze system requirements and design data architecture that meets organizational needs.
• Data Migration: Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Documentation: Prepare accurate reports on database design and architecture for management and executive teams.

Position Title: Data Architect

Position Summary

The position is for an experienced Data Architect that can lead the modernization of a MySQL-based application by designing a future-state architecture that leverages Azure services. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close work with solution architects, data engineers, developers, and database administrators to ensure scalable, secure, and performant data architecture aligned with industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Data Model Design: Develop and optimize logical and physical database models to support transactional and analytical use cases.
• System Requirements Analysis: Work with technical and business stakeholders to assess current architecture and design data solutions that meet evolving needs.
• Azure-Based Refactoring: Design data components using Azure-native services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, and Purview.
• Data Migration: Lead the migration from MySQL to Azure solutions, ensuring data integrity, low downtime, and rollback contingencies.
• Data Governance & Security: Implement standards for data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and SOC 2.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Prepare architecture documentation, data dictionaries, and design reports; mentor technical teams on best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and database design.
• Deep hands-on experience with MySQL, including schema optimization and performance tuning.
• 3+ years of experience designing or refactoring applications using Azure data components.
• Demonstrated success in migrating large-scale datasets from legacy or on-prem systems to Azure.
• Strong background in data modeling techniques (3NF, star schema, Data Vault) and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Proven understanding of data governance, metadata management, security controls, and healthcare compliance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or life sciences domains
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven data (Kafka, Azure Event Hub).
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or Bicep.
• Exposure to BI and analytics platforms like Power BI or Tableau.
