Job Title: Data Engineer (W2, Remote)
Employment Type: Full-time, W2
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)


Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining data infrastructure, optimizing data pipelines, and supporting data-driven applications. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to ensure high data quality and availability across the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT)

  • Develop and manage data infrastructure using cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure)

  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across sources and pipelines

  • Optimize SQL queries and performance of databases and data warehouses

  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data access and modeling needs

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows

  • Implement data security and governance best practices


Technical Skills Required:

  • Programming: Python, SQL, Bash (optional)

  • Data Engineering Tools: Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka (or similar)

  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery

  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue), Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow), or Azure

  • Big Data Technologies: Spark, Hadoop (nice to have)

  • Data Modeling: Experience with dimensional modeling and schema design

  • Version Control: Git

  • Containers (optional): Docker, Kubernetes

  • Data Warehousing: Experience with modern data stacks


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in a data engineering or backend data role

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale data processing

  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
