Job Title: Mainframe Developer CoolGen / CA-Gen

Location: Madison, Wisconsin (Onsite Preferred)
Duration: 6 Months
Visa: Open

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer with a strong background in CoolGen / CA-Gen development to join our team for a key project based in Madison, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth experience with mainframe application development, maintenance, and support, along with expertise in CoolGen/CA-Gen technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using CoolGen (formerly CA-Gen) tools.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
  • Debug and resolve application issues and defects in a timely manner.
  • Participate in application modernization and migration initiatives as required.
  • Conduct impact analysis and provide accurate development estimates.
  • Collaborate closely with QA, Project Management, and Business teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to development and enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5 8 years of experience in Mainframe application development.
  • Mandatory experience with CoolGen / CA-Gen development environments.
  • Proficient in COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, and VSAM.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, defect management, and production support processes.
  • Ability to analyze existing systems and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in large-scale enterprise environments, particularly within financial services, insurance, or government sectors.
  • Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with mainframe modernization projects or transitions to distributed platforms.
