Role: Business Analyst
Location: Remote - PST candidates only
The Sr. Business Analyst II (Technical) is responsible for collaborating with team members in writing, reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining technical requirements and related artifacts for application development initiatives and operational maintenance. The successful candidate must be able to perform detailed process analysis that drive technical/application changes and/or operational/service changes.
Responsibilities:
  • Write and maintain clean, concise, and consistent technical requirements and user stories which accurately decompose high-level concepts and requirements into detailed, workable deliverables for the development team.
  • Maintain and apply detailed understanding of business process purposes, dependencies, and related systems.
  • Provide detailed clarification of requirements to developers, quality assurance engineers, vendors, etc. throughout the project and development life cycle.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors, product owners, and other business analysts to determine and execute the appropriate elicitation methods to research, define, and document processes and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate on the development of user acceptance test plans and support their execution to ensure that requirements and quality objectives are satisfied for product owners.
  • Perform gap analysis to close gaps between business requirements and the delivered product.
  • Work independently, lead requirements gathering, and support cross-functional teams with minimal guidance
  • Act as liaison between Program Managers, Project Managers, Product Owners, Marketing, and IT teams as appropriate.
  • Support evaluation methodologies of operational and technical processes
  • Work in an agile environment that promotes incremental delivery. Participates in Scrum activities including, but not limited to, Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning and Retrospectives.
  • Cover duties for coworkers as needed.
  • On-site or remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Relevant professional Business Analysis Certifications preferred: CBAP AAC, CBDA certifications
  • Health Insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Five to eight (5-8) years in a recent senior level Business Analyst role.
  • Ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, exposure to multiple industries, and demonstrable recent strong technical user story writing skills
  • Strong data flow diagraming skills
  • Strong entity relationship diagraming skills
  • Strong SQL queries to do data validation
  • Strong data, API, and system integration skills (knowledge/project experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and synthesize requirements and user stories from Technical Design and Architecture Documents
  • Recent experience using Business Requirements documentation tools like JAMA, JIRA, Team Foundation Service (TFS).
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand the business goals.
  • Ability to write and maintain clear and concise requirement artifacts (documents, process flows, samples, etc.); able to write requirements that support incremental delivery.
  • Experience, working knowledge, and ability to apply Business Analysis best practices. Support continuous improvement activities and development of best practices.
  • Effectively conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information to determine solutions.
  • Clearly communicate technical issues and constraints to business partners and business problems and objectives to technologists. Facilitate open and clear communication and coordination.
  • Demonstrate expert facilitation skills in both one-on-one, small-group and large-group settings.
  • Ability to function professionally and calmly in high stress situations; ability to adapt to change and redirection in objectives to meet business demands.
  • Work effectively and interact with all levels of the organization

  • Recent strong technical user story writing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and synthesize requirements and user stories from Technical Design and Architecture Documents

  • Strong experience with entity relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams, etc.
  • Experience with SQL queries.
